Position: Foundation Director
Department: Marketing & Philanthropy
Status: Full Time
Position Summary:
The Foundation Director is responsible for the development and implementation of all Community Outreach and Philanthropy supporting our brand, both Glencoe Regional Health and the Glencoe Regional Health Foundation. Philanthropy more broadly encompasses public relations, community partnerships, corporate responsibility, volunteerism, employee giving, and community grant making, special events, and fundraising. This position collaborates with key GRH leaders as well as the GRH Foundation board of directors to develop our shared philanthropic strategy. This position will oversee the creation and implementation of a donor database, help enhance our volunteer program, and build fundraising opportunities to support both organizations. This position plays a key role in engaging our community partners, building relationships with local businesses and organizations. In collaboration with the Volunteer Services & Marketing Events Coordinator, the Foundation Director provides oversight, direction, and support of the Volunteer Services program.
In addition, under the direction of the GRH Foundation Board Chair, this position provides leadership, vision, and support to the GRH Foundation board of directors. This includes managing any capital campaign and additional fundraising drives, overseeing the administration of special events, and managing grant proposal requests. This position would also track goals, plan meeting agendas, and lead communications and public relations to support the GRH Foundation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a closely related field. Minimum of 3 to 5 years previous fundraising experience preferred. Prior management experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of the job as listed above.
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and proven results in fundraising activities: campaigns, mailings, special events, planned giving, corporate sponsorships, etc.
  • Experience in developing and guiding a volunteer board of directors.
  • Experience in CRM platforms (such as Blackbaud or Salesforce products).
  • Strong interpersonal and people skills with the ability to cultivate and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and juggling competing requests and tasks; strong ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to vision, plan, and build something that may not currently exist today; ability to be resourceful and entrepreneurial in mindset.
  • Confidence and experience in presenting and meeting with potential donors.
  • Experience and a strong philosophy toward honoring donor intent and stewardship.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suites.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be self-disciplined, driven, and able to demonstrate initiative.
  • Possess the ability to supervise and work well within a team.
Hours:
This fully benefits eligible position is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period).
